It is played with a Tambola board, 2 tambone sticks and small numbered beads. In the center of the board is a large circle divided into 16 equal sectors or cells which are alternately colored red and black. The numbers from 1 to 15 are inscribed at the bottom inside each sector of the circle except for the four corner sectors, two on each side of the board. One player holds one tambone stick, which has a red end and black end. The other player holds the second tambone stick, which is identical to the first in all respects except that it has a black end and a red end.
The players take turns plucking out numbers from the board. The player with the black end gets to pick a bead from any of the sixteen cells. In case there is more than one bead in a cell, say 2 or 3, only one of which has been plucked by the previous player, then instead of being able to choose from all three or two beads, he should choose only from the unplucked beads. The player with the red end gets to pick a bead from any of the sixteen cells, regardless of whether any previous player has plucked out a bead from that cell or not.

- 10 points when all the remaining beads are captured but one left.
- 5 points when only one bead remains.
- Each bead remaining at the end of any round is worth 20 points to the winner.
